Despite all of the efforts to limit plastic consumption, the environment is dealing with the problem of plastic over-production in the modern world. This increasing production of plastics resistant to biodegradation leads to the accumulation of plastic waste in the environment. Also, Plastic waste disposal is a serious environmental and economic issue. To reduce environmental pollutants and keep the economic benefits, Padena Polymer Knowledge-Based Company has developed brand new NGDP biodegradable masterbatches.
NGDP is an oxo-biodegradable and photo-degradable masterbatch based on various polymers. This masterbatch will be added to a product during the melt processing in the range of 0.5 to 2 wt.%. The amount of used masterbatch depends on the application and type of the products. Utilizing this masterbatch, keep the properties of the polymeric product during usage, and the final product degraded between 2 to 5 years in the environment. This masterbatch contains selected additives, which break the polymer chain into short chains, then these chains degraded to oxygen, water, and organic waste into its structure and finally make plastics available for degradation after service life.
While a majority of common biodegradable products on the market will culminate in huge numbers of microplastics, Padena Polymer NGDP masterbatches are proven to complete a full cycle of biodegradability. It is worth mentioning that, this is a very critical role in choosing a biodegradable product as micro-plastics are much more harmful to the environment in comparison to plastic disposals.
Biodegradable additives are increasingly becoming available for wide uses within different industries.
